Learning Styles

Students learn in many different ways. Some students learn best by hearing things, such as lectures. Other students learn most by seeing things, such as maps or diagrams. While others learn best by doing things, such as hands-on projects. To gain a better understanding of yourself as a learner, you need to evaluate the way you prefer to learn. Knowing your learning style and tailoring learning habits will enhance your learning potential. In the PGHS Counseling Office, students can check with staff and take a learning style inventory and obtain useful information on how to maximize their learning potential.
